The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has identified several business opportunities in Zimbabwe's agriculture sector, including horticulture, floriculture, macadamia nuts, cotton, dairy, livestock, poultry, sugar, and maize. Zimbabwe's horticultural output aligns well with the seasonal gaps in Western markets, providing a first-mover advantage for producers. The country also has a competitive edge in floriculture and macadamia nuts. There are investment opportunities in the cotton sector, which could revive the spinning and weaving industry. The dairy industry is recovering and aims to increase output to 150 million litres by 2025. The livestock sector has potential for increased private sector investment to become a valuable source of export revenue. Raw sugar exports contributed 2.3% of Zimbabwe’s total exports in 2021, and maize is a strategic commodity that could develop other sectors.
