Shocked by the Domestic Coconut Price Surge

On June 24, Mr. Cao Bá Đăng Khoa, Standing Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Coconut Association, provided additional information about the price fluctuations of raw coconuts (dried coconuts) recently. Specifically, Mr. Khoa noted that dried coconut prices in the Southern region have been continuously increasing. In 2022, the price was 3,000 dong per coconut, in 2023 it was 5,000 dong per coconut, in 2024 it reached 12,000 dong per coconut, and in the first four months of 2025, it was 19,000 dong per coconut. From June 16, raw coconut prices have tended to decrease by around 30% (approximately 14,000 dong per coconut), due to imported coconuts from Indonesia, though still remaining very high. The Vietnam Coconut Association's proposal to the government to impose taxes on raw coconut exports has made import companies hesitant to sign long-term orders.
