In Spain, particularly in Castilla y León, there has been an increase in beet cultivation area, with León emerging as the leading producer. However, beet producers face a significant reduction in aid per hectare, with the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) setting the provisional aid at 407 euros per hectare, down 31.21% from the previous year's 591.7 euros. The total budget for this aid is 17 million euros, distributed based on the cultivated area. Despite delayed sowing, the agronomic situation is generally good. The Acor cooperative will begin receiving beets on October 7, while AB Azucarera's factory schedules are yet to be confirmed.
