Siirt pistachios, initially transported from Turkey to Iraq, successfully grafted after six months, expanding from a local tree to a cultivated crop in Iraqi soil. This achievement is part of a broader effort to spread the Siirt pistachio tree, with over four million saplings grown in Turkey and the contribution of more than a thousand grafting and pruning masters in Siirt. This initiative, supported by the Siirt Pistachio Producers Association and the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government, creates employment opportunities and meets a growing demand for the unique pistachio variety, known for its annual yield patterns.
