The article reports on the challenges faced during the corn silage harvest in southern Brazil due to heavy rainfall and frost. Despite some areas continuing the harvest on time, others have seen significant delays and quality reductions. The delay has led to plant mass reduction and fungal growth due to excess humidity. Some regions have experienced losses of up to 30% to 40%, with some areas even losing stored silage due to flooding. As of last Thursday, around 2.5% of the total cultivated area in Emater/RS-Ascar de Bagé still needs to be harvested.
