The National Sheep and Goat Breeding Association (NOCA) expresses concern over the impact of high feed prices on farmers, leading to the destruction of herds and potentially threatening food security. To address this, the Ministry of Agriculture in Ukraine is considering a system to provide livestock farmers with fodder, with the aim of preventing a sudden increase in product prices for consumers and ensuring national food security. NOCA's co-chairman, Simeon Karakolev, has emphasized the need for a solution to prevent further herd liquidations and the risk of Bulgaria becoming a net importer, rather than a net exporter, of grain. Additionally, he has called for government measures to motivate farmers to maintain quality female animals for breeding.
