The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova recently convened an Advisory Council meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing the yield and quality of table grapes. The meeting also focused on the need to diversify sales markets and increase producers' income. Current storage figures show that around 3,000 tons of table grapes are stored in refrigerated warehouses, and the sector exported about 76,000 tons in 2022. The government has encouraged producers to unite and invest in advanced growing technologies, with winegrowers eligible for subsidy support for modernization. Moldova produces over 100,000 tons of table grapes annually, primarily from the Moldova variety, but with a small fraction (100 hectares) grown using the Pergola system for improved quality and productivity.
