The Singapore Food Authority (SFA) has approved the import of heat-processed poultry meat products from Vietnam, marking a significant advancement in agricultural trade relations between the two countries. Singapore, which imported nearly 3 billion USD worth of poultry meat and eggs in 2024, is known for its stringent hygiene and quarantine standards. To export to Singapore, Vietnamese enterprises must meet these standards and hold a valid import permit. This development is anticipated to boost Vietnam's livestock product exports, which are projected to reach over 533 million USD in 2024, marking a 6.5% increase from the previous year. The Ministry of Industry and Trade urges Vietnamese businesses to invest in technology, maintain food hygiene and safety standards, and regularly update Singaporean standards to sustain their international market presence.
