According to a survey conducted by the Korea Rural Economic Institute on October 1-5, based on an online poll of 1,000 fruit consumers aged 20 and above in 17 provinces across the country, the percentage of respondents who plan to set up a memorial table for this Chuseok was 40.4%. This represents a decrease of 34.0 percentage points compared to 2016, when 74.4% of people set up a memorial table. The research institute analyzed that this change is the result of a combination of factors such as the simplification of holiday rituals, the nuclear family structure, and changing values.
