The Smolensk region has experienced a significant increase in livestock slaughter production by 14.7% in the first nine months of 2022 compared to the previous year, reaching 51.2 thousand tons. However, milk production has seen a decrease of 2.9%, totaling 113.3 thousand tons. Egg production also declined by 9%, with a total of 218.1 million eggs received. As of October 1, the region reported a slight decrease in the number of cattle kept, but a significant increase in pig numbers.
