Vietnam: Snakehead fish prices decreased as farmers made heavy losses

Tra Vinh province has a total area of snakehead fish farming 537 ha; of which, Tra Cu district is over 375 hectares, accounting for about 70% of the whole province's farming area, with 1,254 households stocked, the total yield is more than 40,000 tons. In recent years, Tra Vinh commercial snakehead fish is only consumed in the domestic market and exported to Cambodia via quota. Therefore, Cambodia does not import snakehead fish, farmers will face difficulties due to the narrowing snakehead consumption market, and the price of snakehead fish continues to decrease.
