Son La, Vietnam is the largest producer of coffee and tea in the country, with 20,000 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation. The province is expected to produce 40,000-45,000 tons of coffee in 2021, generating 3,500-4,000 billion VND in revenue. The region has achieved UTZ and VietGAP certifications and has received geographical indication status for its coffee products. The province is now focusing on sustainable coffee development, replanting, and introducing new coffee varieties to improve yield and quality. The vice chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee has stressed the importance of deep processing to dominate the export market and adhering to the 4C and UTZ standards.
