DATAGRO Grãos has predicted the 2023/24 soybean harvest in South America to reach 215.314 million tons, a slight decrease from the previous forecast of 222.343 million tons. This estimate, however, marks a 10% increase from the previous harvest's volume and surpasses the record set in the 2020/21 season. The projected planted area for the 2023/24 harvest is 68.825 million hectares, showing a 6% growth compared to the record in the 2022/23 harvest. However, average productivity has been revised downwards due to irregular climate conditions. Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay have seen increases in soybean planted areas, while Bolivia and Uruguay have experienced adjustments in production potentials. Despite some setbacks, the total production is expected to be higher than the previous harvest.
