[Reporter Young-jin Choi, Korean Fishermen's Newspaper] The Korean Fisheries Association and the China Fisheries Association, representing private fisheries organizations from both countries, have decided to hold a Korean-Chinese fishing industry exchange meeting in Jeju next April. The Korean Fisheries Association announced this decision at the 19th Korea-China Private Fisheries Cooperation Conference held in Weihai, China, on the 17th. Furthermore, the conference reviewed the implementation status of the Korea-China private fisheries agreement and discussed the eradication of damage caused by illegal Chinese fishing in the specific sea areas of the West Sea and Korea's provisional measures area (EEZ), as well as the strengthening of education and guidance for fishermen. Both countries also agreed to actively cooperate to swiftly resolve two collision incidents between fishing vessels.
