The 'Livestock Leadership' program in Southern Peru has launched a campaign to deworm 4,000 South American camelids, including alpacas and llamas, as well as dogs in the high Andean areas of Arondaya, Asana, Quebrada Honda, and Titijones in the Moquegua region. This initiative, which began a week ago and is conducted in coordination with the Directorate of Agriculture, aims to ensure the animals' health by controlling internal and external parasites, thus supporting the economic well-being of local producers. The program also offers technical-veterinary assistance, disease treatment, and artificial insemination for cattle, with a focus on involving the youth of the Torata district in veterinary training.
