Mato Grosso do Sul saw a 32% increase in its trade balance in August compared to the same period in 2019, largely due to a 36.5% increase in soy exports. Other exports, such as cellulose, vegetable and animal oils and fats, sugar, and pig iron, also increased significantly. The average exchange rate in August was 40% higher than in the past, bringing in more revenue for producers. China is the main destination for exports from Mato Grosso do Sul, followed by Argentina and the United States. Dourados has seen a 101% increase in exports, primarily due to soy exports.
