Brazil: Soybean exports resumed in Porto Murtinho, Mato Grosso do Sul

Considered an important logistics hub and gateway to the Bioceanic Route, Porto Murtinho begins operating its largest port terminal with the first soybean export this year to Argentina via the Paraguay River Waterway. After the stoppage of navigation in the second half of 2021, due to the drought in the Pantanal basin, FV Cereais started last Saturday (26) the loading of a convoy of 12 barges with 23 thousand tons. The resumption of waterway transport in Mato Grosso do Sul began in January, with the departure of iron ore from Morro do Urucum, in Corumbá, through the port of Granel Química, located in the neighboring municipality of Ladário. Subsequently, with the rise in the river level in Porto Esperança, Vale expanded its export capacity from its Gregório Curvo terminal.
