As reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), the soybean complex added a total of sales abroad for US $ 14,865 million throughout 2020, being once again the main Argentine export sector -with the 27, 1% of total exports -, although with a year-on-year fall of 12.3%. Occupying second place on the national export podium was the corn complex, accounting for 11.2% of total national exports, with sales of US $ 6,151 million and growth of 2.1% compared to 2019. In the case of the sector automotive, this fell to third place, motivated by the sharp fall in industrial trade in 2020 caused by the coronavirus pandemic that affects the planet. Thus, the sector added 7.9% of total sales, for US $ 4,309 million, resulting in a decrease of 39.5% in the year-on-year comparison.
