Spain and China have strengthened their agri-food cooperation with the signing of three new protocols that benefit the pork and fisheries sectors, during the state visit of the King and Queen of Spain to the People's Republic of China. These agreements expand commercial opportunities for the Spanish pork, fishing, and aquaculture industries. One of the most important protocols, due to its strategic impact on the pig sector, is the protocol on the regionalization of African Swine Fever (ASF), which comes into force after its signing. This agreement establishes the zoning and compartmentalization mutually recognized by both countries, representing a crucial step for sanitary and commercial management in case of outbreaks.
