Spain currently has 67% of the actions committed within the plan to modernize irrigation through efficiency and sustainability improvements, a program that Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Minister Luis Planas sees as "of absolute necessity." Planas, in statements to Efeagro, has taken stock of this program, which has a total investment of 2.5 billion euros from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). The program will run until 2027 and currently has 63 actions in execution, out of a total of 94 planned, according to the Ministry. These 63 actions have an investment of 1,433.7 million euros and will benefit more than 390,000 hectares. On the other hand, 20 actions have already been completed with an investment of 77.44 million euros and over 150,000 hectares modernized.
