Animal health authorities have confirmed to Efeagro the detection of three new cases of wild boars positive for African swine fever, bringing the total number to 16, all located in the municipality of Cerdanyola del Vallès. The Veterinary Health Alert Network (Rasve) has raised the number of declared outbreaks to seven since the first one was detected on November 27 in the aforementioned Barcelona municipality. According to an update note published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the new outbreaks are located in the vicinity of those previously reported and within the perimeter of the highest risk area in the infected zone, which includes municipalities within a 20-kilometer radius. In addition, 115 other dead animals found in the natural environment or on roads or railways in the infected area and its surroundings have been analyzed and have resulted negative.
