Spain: Slight reduction in the exports of cured ham in 2020

According to data from the Jamón Serrano Espanhol Consortium (CJSE), exports of Spanish cured hams / palettes in 2020 reached a total of 47061.89 tonnes, which represents a reduction of 2.13% in volume compared to the previous year (48087.94 t). Thus, exports amounted to 460916855,59 euros, which represents an increase of 1.87% in value compared to 2019. The countries of the European Union imported a total of 37348.32 tons during this year (-4.05%) , while Third Countries registered a volume of 9713.57. The main markets for serrano ham continue to be European Union countries such as Germany and France, followed by Portugal and Italy. For its part, the countries of the European Union that increased the value of their imports in the last year were Holland, by 27.81%; Norway, at 14.94%, and Germany, at 9.43%.
