Freshuelva, which represents 95% of Huelva's strawberry sector, reported a 9% decrease in strawberry production for the 2023-2024 campaign due to drought and heat, totaling 221,412 tons. Raspberry production also fell by 15% to 40,288 tons, while blueberry production increased by 10% to 58,509 tons. Arrears production remained stable at around 2,000 tons. Despite the lower strawberry production, export valuation rose by 8% to over 616 million euros. Blueberry export valuation increased by 6% to 231.6 million euros, whereas raspberry and arrears export valuations decreased by 7% and 5.90%, respectively. Germany and the UK are the primary markets for Huelva's red fruits, with the Netherlands being the third largest for raspberries and blueberries.
