The Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, Begoña García, has highlighted -at the ministerial meeting on Agriculture of the Mediterranean States of the European Union (Med9), in Portoroz (Slovenia)- that Spain will allocate more than 2.5 billion euros until 2027 in investment to modernize 700,000 hectares of irrigated land. This investment will benefit 200,000 Spanish farmers and is "Spain's firm commitment" to the modernization of irrigation and the State Pact in the face of the Climate Emergency, García has stated, after emphasizing that irrigation is "key for the future of agriculture and the management of risks and crises in the sector."
