Spanish imports of fruit and vegetables from third countries grew by 20% until August

Spanish imports of fruits and vegetables from non-EU countries have increased by 20%, both in volume and value, until August 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year. As reported this Wednesday by the Spanish Federation of Producer Associations Fruit and Vegetable Exporters (Fepex), in total, the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables has grown by 11% in volume and 23% in value, during that period. The 20% increase in non-EU imports of fruits and vegetables fresh produce amounted to 1.5 million tons and 1,997 million euros in the period from January to August 2023 compared to the same months in 2022.
