Spanish tomato exports fell by -38.71%

Spanish tomato exports have seen a significant decrease, falling by 38.71% in the past ten years, according to Hortoinfo and Estacom (Icex -Tax Agency). The total tomato export volume in 2022 was 629.27 million kilos, a decrease of 397.48 million kilos from 2013. Despite the decrease in volume, the average price at which Spain exported its tomatoes in 2022 was 1.75 euros per kilo, the highest in the last ten years. The United Kingdom, one of the five largest buyers, had the highest average selling price at 2.03 euros per kilo.
