Spanish wine is at stake for 40.4 million euros in Russia and Ukraine

The war unleashed by Russia's invasion of Ukraine has put Spanish wine exports to both countries at risk, which in 2021 reached a total of 40.4 million euros, as reported by the Spanish Wine Market Observatory (OEMV). In detail, the Spanish wine sector exported in 2021 for a total value of 24.2 million euros to Russia between wines, grape musts and juices, to which were added the 16.2 million sold in Ukraine. Musts, wines still and sparkling wines are the main products that Spain sells to Russia, while musts, bottled wines but also in bulk are the main categories sold to Ukraine.
