Specialist: Soil control underpins new phase of sugarcane

The sugarcane regrowth phase marks the beginning of a new production cycle and defines the potential of the crop for the upcoming harvests. It is during this period that tillering, uniformity, and the support capacity of the sugarcane are established. The technical management immediately after the harvest is crucial for the plant's vigor and the productivity of the following crops. According to agricultural engineer Guilherme Matar Longo from Fazenda Serraria, the regrowth is one of the most decisive stages of sugarcane management, requiring attention to soil pest control, chemical and physical soil correction, and the rational use of inputs.
