Ukraine: Spring sowing in the Lviv region began three weeks earlier

Sowing of early spring grain and leguminous crops has begun in some areas of the Lviv region. Thanks to the warm weather in the second half of winter, this year sowing in the region began almost 3 weeks earlier than a year ago, reports the department of agro-industrial development of the Lviv Oblast. "The first fields were sown with spring wheat and spring barley in the Chervonohrad and Stryi districts of the region. Sowing of peas and oats will approximately begin in 1.5-2 weeks," the message states. According to operational data of the department, in the commercial sector, the area of early grain and leguminous crops (spring wheat, spring barley, oats, peas) will amount to 14.5 thousand hectares in 2024, or 3% of the structure of the total sown area.
