Stable and low prices for potatoes have been maintained in Uzbekistan for more than three months

Wholesale prices for potatoes in Uzbekistan have remained stable at the same level over the past three and a half months. Moreover, prices for these products remain at a minimum level for the same period of the last few years, EastFruit experts note. This season, the first large batches of potatoes from the new harvest appeared on the wholesale markets of the capital of Uzbekistan only in the first ten days of April - about three weeks later than last year; a steady downward trend has formed in the dynamics of wholesale prices for these products. If last year the fall in prices for new crop potatoes stopped at the end of April, then this year wholesale prices for these products continued to decline until the end of June. Since then, the average wholesale price for potatoes in Uzbekistan has remained stable at the same level – 3,000 sum/kg ($0.25).
