Brazil: State Department of Agriculture encourages pineapple production in the state

With the arrival of summer, pineapple becomes the season's favorite among the tropical fruits so common at this time of year. The demand for pineapple increases due to high temperatures and stands out for its great commercial potential and nutritional value. The pineapple crop cycle takes 12 to 24 months and is produced throughout the year, but production peaks between the months of August and December. The State Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Supply offers the Frutificar credit line so that rural producers can boost their production. - With the Frutificar Program and the support of Emater-Rio, rural workers have access to Agrofundo, a development program that serves as an incentive for producers who can count on the ease of obtaining credit at low interest rates for investment and increased production – highlighted Dr Flávio Ferreira, Secretary of Agriculture.
