In January, Belgium sold nearly 38.5 million kg of pears, slightly unchanged from the previous year. As of February 1, 2023, the pear stock decreased to 132 million kg, a decrease from 160 million kg the previous year. Similarly, apple stocks also saw a decrease, dropping to 70 million kg from 116 million kg a year ago. These figures, released by the Flemish Department of Agriculture & Fisheries, highlight a decrease in the availability of both pears and apples compared to the previous year.
