Strategie Grains has reduced its forecasts for the EU's 2024 rapeseed and sunseed crops due to unfavorable weather, with rapeseed production expected to fall to 17.27 million tons, nearly 14% below last year's level, and sunseed production revised down to 9.65 million tons. Significant declines are noted in countries like Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Romania. The European Commission has also lowered its forecasts. Despite stable soybean forecasts, tight rapeseed and sunseed stocks are likely to drive higher prices and potential market volatility, especially with upcoming EU deforestation regulations.
