According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, from midnight to 5 PM, rainfall was recorded as 66.5㎜ in Gimnyeong, 62㎜ in Geonim-dong, 60㎜ in Daehyeol, 54.5㎜ in Wasan, and 49㎜ in Oedo.
Hallasan Mountain recorded rainfall of 45㎜ at Samgakbong and 35㎜ at the South Wall.
Expected rainfall through the 15th is up to 80mm.
The Meteorological Administration forecast that as a tropical low pressure system gradually moves northward in the southern sea of Jeju Island and cold air from the northwest descends, the atmosphere around Jeju will become unstable, with occasional thunderstorms and heavy rain of up to 30㎜ per hour.
A meteorological official warned that roads may become slippery, visibility may sharply decrease, and particularly in mountainous areas with low cloud inflow, very dense fog with visibility under 200ｍ may occur, urging caution in transportation.
Winds will also be strong, with momentary wind speeds of around 15ｍ/s (20ｍ/s in mountainous areas) until the afternoon of the 14th.
Jeju Island urged people to avoid approaching coastal areas, breakwaters, and rivers due to potential damage from swelling waves.
It also asked pedestrians to be cautious of potential falling objects due to strong winds.
Transportation authorities asked airport users to check flight operations before heading to the airport, as sudden wind warnings could cause flight delays or cancellations at Jeju Airport.
The heavy rain warning initially issued for eastern Jeju has been expanded to northern Jeju, northern mid-mountain areas, and mountainous regions, with preliminary heavy rain warnings in effect for southern and southern mid-mountain areas.
