Since the start of 2020, Kuban enterprises have seen a significant increase in sugar exports, with about 270 thousand tons sent to the international market, a nearly ninefold increase from the previous year. This surge is part of the international cooperation and export national project, with the region planning to export goods worth $2.5 billion this year. The main importers include CIS countries, Turkey, Mongolia, Albania, Israel, Lebanon, among others. This increase in exports is attributed to the development of the sugar processing industry in the region, with technical support provided to factories and the resumption of operations at sugar mills. The national project 'International cooperation and export' aims to increase the share of exports in GDP to 20% and grow exports of non-primary non-energy goods by 2024 to $250 billion.
