Sugar futures prices on the New York Stock Exchange started in the positive but quickly declined, following a similar trend from the previous day's trading session. Analysts predict that the central-south region of Brazil will have a record sugar production of 40.5 million tons in the 2023/24 harvest, surpassing previous estimates by 500 thousand tons. This is due to favorable weather conditions that are allowing mills to continue harvesting and grinding sugarcane at a productive pace.
