The situation on the Ukrainian sugar market is challenging. Despite a reduction in production in 2025, the price of sugar continues to fall. The head of the National Association of Sugar Producers "Ukrtsukor," Yana Kavushevska, stated in a comment to "Kommersant Ukrainian" that at current prices—around 20 UAH/kg, which is below the cost of production—the domestic industry is at risk. Producers hope for a price recovery that will allow them to cover costs and ensure the domestic market and export potential.
As of the first decade of November, 26 sugar factories, which are part of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine "Ukrtsukor," have produced 880 thousand tons of sugar. This is 100 thousand tons less than at the same date last year.
At the same time, experts note that this result is interim and does not reflect the overall production picture. As the head of the association "Ukrtsukor," Yana Kavushevska, explained, the season is expected to produce 1.5–1.6 million tons of sugar—300 thousand tons less than last year.
