Sugar production this season will increase.

According to the Eurasian Sugar Association, as of February 2, 10 beet sugar plants continued production in Russia compared to seven a year earlier. Since the start of the season, almost 6 million tons of sugar have been produced in the country. In total, according to various estimates, the production volume for the 2025/26 season may reach 6.4-6.5 million tons, which is higher than the previous year. Leading expert of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) Yevgeny Ivanov recalls that sugar production in this agricultural year began earlier than the previous one. He notes that sugar output in August and September was higher than a year earlier. In August, it became a record-breaking 586 thousand tons, surpassing the historical maximum for this month of 546 thousand tons, recorded in 2019.
