Sugar: Weak demand keeps white crystal price falling

Sugar Negotiations involving white crystal sugar have been slow in the spot market of the state of São Paulo. This weak movement has been observed since the end of October. Researchers from CEPEA indicate that this scenario is linked to the reduced demand for prompt delivery of crystal sugar. On the supply side, a higher volume of Icumsa 180 crystal sugar available for sale continues to be observed. In this context, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for white crystal sugar recorded a drop of more than 6% in the first half of November. In the field, data from UNICA show that the Brazilian Center-South produced 38,085 million tons of sugar between April 1 and November 1, 2025, an increase of 1.63% compared to the same period last year.
