Brazil is expected to maintain its global leadership in the production of sugarcane and sugar in the 2026/27 crop year. According to estimates from the USDA agricultural attaché in Brasília, the total sugarcane production is projected at 675 million tons. The volume represents a growth of approximately 2% compared to the 2025/26 crop year, estimated at 660 million tons. The Central-South region remains the main producing hub in the country, with an expected harvest of around 620 million tons. The North-Northeast region is expected to account for approximately 55 million tons in the next season.
