Suncheon City (Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu) announced that the first shipment of 20 tons of Suncheon's representative agricultural product, the jujube plum, began on the 15th. The Suncheon jujube plum is characterized by its soft flesh and rich flavor, cultivated under abundant sunlight and mild climatic conditions. It is grown on approximately 50 hectares (ha) of land, with an expected shipment of over 637 tons in the upcoming harvest season. After being harvested, the jujube plums undergo strict quality control and selection processes, followed by a natural aging process to maximize sweetness and flavor before being shipped in the best condition. The shipped jujube plums are distributed nationwide through local agricultural cooperatives and major supermarkets in the capital area to consumers.
