Prices for sunflower seeds in Ukraine have fallen to a 4-month low after attacks by the Russian army on ports reduced trade in crude oil.

Over the past week, sunflower prices on the domestic market in Ukraine lost more than 1,000 hryvnias ($23.62 at the current exchange rate) per ton, reaching 26,000 – 27,600 hryvnias ($614.02 – $651.80) per ton with delivery to a processing plant, according to observations by analysts of the online publication APK-Inform. This is the lowest level since the beginning of the current agricultural season (September 1), with deals only occasionally made at levels of 28,000 – 28,300 hryvnias per ton, while asking prices started at 25,000 – 25,400 hryvnias per ton. Meanwhile, the trading activity of sunflower in Ukraine has significantly decreased.
