Brazil: Sunflower production in Goiás should increase 65.1% in the 2022/2023 harvest

Sunflower production should register the highest percentage increase among grain crops in Goiás in the 2022/2023 Harvest. Released this Thursday (09/03), the 6th Survey by the National Supply Company (Conab) shows that the crops in Goiás — currently in the sowing phase — should deliver 36 thousand tons of the oilseed, an increase of 65.1% in relation to to the volume produced in the 21/22 Crop. The new report also revises the estimate of total grain production in the state upwards. The projection now is for a total of 31.7 million tons, against 31.5 million tons in the previous round, released in February. In relation to the past season, the advance is 9.8%. An increase is also expected for the total planted area (1.4%) and productivity (8.3%). In the case of sunflower, the Conab survey indicates a downward trend (-3.8%) in the area planted in the State.
