Sunflower remains the most profitable crop for farmsteads and continues to lead in terms of net income. This was reported by scientists from the Institute of Grain Crops of the NAAS and the R&D Institute of Agrarian Economics of the NAAS during a roundtable "The Most Profitable Crops in 2026: What to Grow for Farmers," organized by the All-Ukrainian Farmers Congress with the support of Mercy Corps, as reported by "ProAgro Group." According to research, in the structure of profits from the sale of agricultural products of small farmsteads in 2019–2024, sunflower consistently accounted for the largest share — from 30% to over 40% depending on the year. "Farmers receive the highest net income precisely from sunflower.
