Support for walnut peeling machine for producer in Mersin

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has provided 24 walnut shelling machines to producers to date, with 7 more to be provided by 2025. These machines, which can shell up to one thousand kilograms of walnuts per hour, have reportedly saved farmers both time and labor. It was noted that the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Directorate continues to provide machinery and equipment support to small and medium-sized producers. The support is provided through Irrigation Cooperatives and Agricultural Development Cooperatives, and so far, a total of 24 walnut shelling machines have been provided to producers, with 7 more to be provided by 2025. One of the neighborhoods benefiting from the support is Demirışık Neighborhood in Mezitli district.
