Vietnam: Supporting durian farmers growing custard apples according to the value chain in a commune of Dien Bien

The durian custard apple planting project was implemented by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association in coordination with the Vietnam Vegetable and Fruit Investment Joint Stock Company for 59 farming households in Muong Dang commune, Muong Ang district (Dien Bien). The total investment for the project is over 2.5 billion VND. Muong Ang district has directed Muong Dang commune to select 59 farming households with a land fund of 20 hectares to implement the project. Farmer members will be trained and acquire technical knowledge on planting and caring for durian custard apple, supported with custard apple seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides in the first year and guaranteed output of products.
