China has suspended imports of Taiwanese pineapples, affecting about 10% of Taiwan's total output. In response, the Taiwan government has invested NT$1 billion to subsidize farmers and purchase pineapples at a set price. The current purchase price in the Guanmiao area ranges from 9 to 11 yuan per catty (600 grams) for top-grade pineapples. The situation remains uncertain as the pineapple season has not yet started, and the market's reaction is being monitored. In the past few years, Taiwan has seen an increase in pineapple planting areas, benefiting from the high acceptance of the mainland market.
