In 2023, Taiwan became the second most important destination for domestic beef shipments from Paraguay, with 38,223 tons being shipped for USD 187.4 million, representing an increase in volume of 2.4% but a decrease in revenue of 4% compared to 2022. Taiwan also ranked as the third best market for Paraguayan bovine offal, with 3,878 tons exported for a value of USD 9.7 million, representing a 3% increase in volume and a 29% decrease in value compared to 2022. Through an Economic Cooperation Agreement with Taiwan, Paraguay achieved the total liberation of tariffs on beef and other products, strengthening trade between the two nations.
