The peak production season for Taiwanese pineapple custard apples is from December to April, with the first batch arriving at Kaohsiung Port on December 5 and being shipped to the mainland. Import of Taiwanese custard apples to the mainland was suspended due to detections of the oceanic mealybug, leading to a drop in price. After coordination and communication efforts, the import of custard apples from Taiwan was resumed, and a seminar was held to facilitate overseas export.
