Despite the European Union's ban on imports of certain agricultural commodites from Ukraine, including sunflower oil, traders are exploiting a loophole by importing crude oil, evidenced by the queues of tankers at oil mills. This situation has caused concern for farmers, as they face low prices for their crops and the upcoming harvest. The mayor of a border village, Georgi Nikolov, highlights the potential for mass sales and falling prices, stating that the situation could become more challenging with a good new harvest. Farmers believe that they are being exploited, with the prices of most goods increasing while only fertilizers and fuels have become cheaper.
